They are used for extending Human Life beyond the expiration of the "O.F" (Organic Frame) as well as the limitations O.F.s possess. Shells basically render its occupant immortal as long as the Shells are properly maintained and serviced every 33 years (considering they are not placed within atmospheres outside of New Earth). This one in particular is currently occupied by Dr. Connie Saxton, one of the most brilliant minds of the renowned Conscious Preservation company, ConsciTech.
